About Our Strip

There is a copse of trees to the south, which may be 70' high, but are situated in a valley and can 'usually' be avoided.

To the north and quite close to the strip is an 8' thorn hedge. This can be a major psychological barrier when landing in a cold South Easterly, or in more friendly weather. It has been known to act as a rather prickly backstop for those floaters that really don't want to touch down.

Hedge

Our infamous 8' thorn hedge, claims another victim! To the North of the strip, this can be a major psychological barrier when landing into a cold South Easterly wind. Or, in more friendly weather, it has been known to act as a rather prickly backstop for those floaters that really don't want to touch down!

Safe Fly Zone

With safety in mind, we maintain a 'safe fly zone' which avoids surrounding roads and our own 'pits', where fellow pilots rest between sorties.
